HANJI TREE

From her childhood, Eunah has always enjoyed and excelled at both math and art. While obtaining her accounting degree, she also studied art in her spare time to develop her drawing and painting skills. While working as a financial accountant in Seoul, she also received her Hanji craft certificate and became a member of Korean Hanji Artist Association. Over the years, Eunah has learned from three different Hanji artists in Korea to master various techniques in painting, crafting and dyeing. Even with her financial background, Eunah has continued her passion for Hanji art:

 

     “I enjoy math and art every day. Math is about breaking things down to find solutions while designing my piece is about building up. Being good at numbers is very helpful when working on 3-dimensional projects. I use mathematics to build the basic structure of my crafts and to measure Hanji paper to apply."

 

Currently, Eunah works as a pet portrait artist and Hanji crafter in Seattle. Eunah exhibits her pieces at The Richmond Beach Library Art Shows and offers Hanji craft classes to share her passion and knowledge. With her artwork, Eunah is inspired to create a harmony of beautiful colors, lines, and shapes made with Hanji. She hopes her artwork excites others to feel optimism through natural, bright and fresh colors utilizing the art of Hanji.

BA in Accountancy at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign - 2009

Received the Hanji Craft Certificate in Seoul, Korea - 2011

MS in Accountancy at California State University, Los Angeles - 2015

Passed the CPA exam (2016) and the Series 65 exam (2017)
